Walking the coastal paths of Cornwall, whatever the weather, energises and gives me the time to let my mind roam and spark ideas for my art.
I have always been drawn to the sea; having spent my childhood on the south coast, my student years on the west coast of Wales and Scotland and numerous holidays in Cornwall. Rugged cliffs, deep rock pools harbouring all manner of marine life and watching the sea etch ripples in the sand gives me enormous pleasure.
At a time when the world has finally realised our coastal waters are precious places, I like to create work that highlights the fragility and beauty of the environment I love. Although I use a number of techniques I am especially drawn to the delicacy of Pâte de Verre.
